Opening remarks include: Change happens and we adapt. If you've been around for a while you've probably noticed the changes in our libraries over the years. One of those huge changes, of course, was the rise of the Web.

Now we've had Web sites for the last ten years or so, and they're also changing -- and dramatically. The first trick to surviving these changes is DON'T PANIC!

The latest Web-based shift is towards social software. This is Web sites loaded with user-generated content.

We in FFX. CO. have been discussing this for a while now, and our discussions have included librarians from far and wide.

We're here to talk about fairly recent innovations on the Web.

You may have heard of Web 2.0. and possibly Library 2.0 but what do they mean?

It's Ok if you're just leaning towards 2.0 or even just thinking about 2.0. What's important is that you're familiar with the various parts involved.

Our library structure can be divided in two: one part on the Web and the other in our buildings.

There were lots of ideas about what to do with our buildings to keep them viable but that's a topic for another day.
